The Palace of the Emirate of Al Qapo has an area of 1,800 square meters, six floors and a height of 38 meters. In fact, Ali Qapo Mansion is the only complex that stands out from other buildings around the square and was considered as a symbol of government power in its time. Aali Qapo mansion with its beautiful architecture based on wood was considered one of the most magnificent buildings of the Safavid era.
During the Safavid era, the main gate of the Ali Qapo mansion was the entrance gate to all the royal buildings in Naqsh Jehan Square. Shah Abbas I, Safavid, ordered the construction of Aali Qapu Palace to show off the power and glory of his government. At that time, important government meetings and reception of foreign guests and government ceremonies were held in this mansion. The balcony of this mansion was considered a meeting place for Shah Abbas and his entourage. Also, this balcony was used for watching polo and horse riding competitions in Naqsh Jahan Square.
